Frequently Asked Questions

Getting In and Getting Out

Is it in the store?

Yes! You can install Purposetivity app from the Google Play Store (in process) or the Apple Store.

What do I get?

You can choose between two collections of guided audios.

  • The Purposetivity Align plan includes 7 daily activations, 1 weekly, and 1 monthly. You can repeat these as long as you like.
  • The Purposetivity Amplify plan ensures you won’t get bored with 30 different daily activations, 4 weekly amplifications, and 3 monthly attunements, providing for a full 12 week year model!

In addition, each plan includes a full pdf of Amazon best seller Purposetivity: The Feminine Face of Productivity and a recorded workshop on choosing the best productivity tools for you.
The Purposetivity Amplify plan includes an ever-increasing collection of instruction guides for additional focus and flow enhancing tools.

Any special instructions for Apple devices?

Always sign-up using your personal email, not the Private Relay email from Apple (Hide My Email option). That way you can log in on multiple devices without losing access to the purchased plan.

Will you be adding new content?

Of course! My plan is to add new elements every month. I just don’t always know in advance what they’ll be (because MY brain)!

Is there an annual payment discount?

No, the subscription is handled through the app store.

How do I cancel?

Just go to your Profile > Subscriptions and click the Cancel button and when your current payment period ends, no further payments will be made.
At that time you’ll lose access to the app.
When you come back, you’ll restart at the beginning of the drip (??)

Do I retain access to the ones I’ve paid for?

As long as you’re subscribing, your library continues to grow.

About Productivity / Purposetivity

Why the waterfall model?

That horrible anxiety that stresses so many neurodivergent entrepreneurs gets worse with the overwhelm of zillions of unrelated tasks attacking us from the ethers. Using the waterfall model not only tames them into coherent categories, but give us a strong sense of prioritization and meaning.

What if I miss a day?

Just come back the next day – simple. No guilt, no penalty. The activations continue to release once per day, so you can listen to the new one or the previous one as you please. The only thing that would be affected is your streak tracking.

Do you recommend time blocking?

Only for people whose energy is perfectly consistent from day to day and who have routine, repetitive work. Which is to say, no.

It's effective to block out time for getting tasks done so you're not overrun with meetings.

But within that, you're better off to check in with your energy when you get there to see which task will be the best match for you then.

Trying to enforce which task you'll have capacity for next Thursday at 10 is just a fast road to guilt and losing self-trust.

You still have to actually Do The Things!

Much as I've tried to get the list to do the work, spending too much time making lists doesn't actually move your purpose forward. Remember, you have to get out of your project management tool and actually DO the tasks! Don't let organizing and prioritizing become your new addiction.

Does this help me prioritize my tasks?

In a simplified way, yes. During your daily activation, you'll select the top 3 things you want to have completed by the end of this day. It's intended to be a gut-knowing instinctual step.

You can support your body-knowing by tagging the single next step on each project. You can also review the Eisenhower matrix of urgent vs important to have that at the back of your mind. And you can make a weekly task to prioritize the next phase of your project lists.

Can you help me find my purpose statement?

We have a getting-started method in the welcome section! While it may not be your ultimate invocation, it'll give you a starting place to work with and refine.

Do I have to use an online task management tool?

You’re welcome to use these activations with your paper list as long as that serves you.
You’ll know it’s time to consider digital when you get annoyed hand-copying things from one day to the next or you want to bring on an assistant. You can’t delegate paper.

How do I choose which project management tool?

When it’s time to go digital, use the “Your Tools Your Style” workshop to help you choose. You might also enjoy the quick quiz at karenjoyfritz.com/toolquiz to point you in the right direction.

How long does it take to set up my task list?

If you haven’t been using a centralized list, start by adding just today’s tasks to your new tool.
Then add a task for each coming day to add more into the tool:

  • All the sticky notes and scraps of paper on your desk
  • Each day, focus on one project and dump in everything you can think of and put dates on them
  • Walk through your home, room by room, and gather any tasks you think of
  • Consider each month of the year and add repeating things, like changing a furnace filter or buying a gift

You don’t have to do it all at once. Small bites make it easier – and you’ll feel a sense of relief with each one!

Social Engagement

Are there group calls?

Not at this time. We want to leave as much time as possible for you to actually Do The Important Things.

Can I offer this to my friends/clients?

Sure! Just have them download from the app store and you can compare streaks.

Is there a community or forum? Can I connect with other users?<

Again, on thinking about it, no one really needs yet-another-forum. In service to minimizing overwhelm, we've chosen to turn that feature off (let us know if you really feel differently!). Of course, if you invite friends to use the tool, you've got a great start to a shared accountability group in whatever messaging app you're already using!

Neurodivergence

Will this solve my ADHD / Autism / OCD / …?

No, the way your mind works is not an accident to be overcome. You are perfectly designed for what you’re actually here to do. This app is designed to help you activate the most supportive parts of your brain.

Will I get bored listening to the same recording every day?

On the Amplify plan, you’ll get 30+ different daily audios and you can mark your favorites to come back to.

How long does it take every day?

Daily sessions are 5-7 minutes and you’re on your way.

Using the App

What if I have tech problems?

Just send email to support@purposetivity.com.

How do I rewind to the first recording?

You can favorite (click the star) or just scroll back up to the top.

Can I access it on my computer?

Yes, there’s a web browser interface at purposetivity.passion.io that accepts your same login credentials.
